Did You Know? Wandering Wilma Has a Twin!

Here we go! Finally! I, Wandering Wilma, have been dreaming of becoming a full-time writer since I was a little girl. And now in 2022, I can finally introduce myself as a full-time Freelance Writer. Writing Wilma has been born.

From Account Manager to Copywriter

Three months ago, when the world was getting into a recession and gas prices started to soar, I resigned as an Account Manager at a marketing agency in central London. I hear you think; “why on earth would you do that?” That’s a good question, and I still think the same from time to time. But life is here to be lived and Wilma wants to live. Many dream of living the agency life in the big city. I never really did. It was pleasant as long as it lasted but did not feel right. I was the wrong girl in the wrong corporate grey office. With my rent due and bills breathing in my neck, I jumped. It was now or never and I gave birth to Writing Wilma.

For those who followed my online writing journey before, the name Writing Wilma will sound familiar. Wilma is one of my middle names and I just love alliterations. This does not mean Wandering Wilma will stop wandering. On the contrary, Wandering Wilma will (hopefully) write again about all her trips, the best coffee shops in London, and how she is most creative on airplanes on her way to a new destination.

The Twins

Wandering Wilma will go hand in hand with Writing Wilma. Let’s say they will be twins. They will be the same but different. Writing Wilma will be the professional side; she will be the focused, dedicated, confident, older twin that brings in the money. She is the boss lady writing for small entrepreneurs and big brands. Wandering Wilma will be the insecure, babbly, and naive younger one. She loves to ramble and write about her travels and about all the ups and downs of the daily life of a Freelance Writer in London. Yes, you read that correctly, let’s say it again just to be sure: she loves to talk about her travels and about all the ups and downs of the daily life of a Freelance Writer in London.

So embark with me, or should I say ‘us’, on this journey. It definitely will be one of many doubts, even more oat cappuccinos, and a writer’s block from time to time. It will also be a journey of great new connections, exploring London and the world in a new way, and writing inspiring texts. Let’s go.

Dream big,

xx
